Every donation is greatly appreciated when each team's annual operational budget is approaching $10,000. This budget covers all tournament and other (league, state, ..) fees as well as cost of equipment (balls, goals, cones,..), first aid and help with coaches' travel expenses. Also, players and their families have to cover their travel expenses when the teams participates in tournaments. This usually amounts to $400 - $1,000 per tournament but could reach as much as $5,000 as was the case in 2003 regionals that were held in Honolulu, HI. (All state champs from AK, AZ, CA-South, CA-North, CO, HI, ID, MT, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, and WY have to go to regionals or face a year of suspension.) Moreover, the players making the state's ODP team face additional expense of about $1,000 to travel to the regional camp in Idaho.
